Sina Vodjani also known as the Sijano Vodjani is a musician born in 1954 in Isfahan, Iran, son of a French mother and an Iranian father.
Sina Vodjani grew successively in Tehran , San Francisco and Paris . Thus , from early childhood, he faces several cultures. Very young, he learned singing and guitar, but he was fascinated by Eastern music .
In 1975 , he moved to Hamburg. This is where he became known as an interpreter of French songs and he began two years of study in composition.
In the early 1980s , Sina Vodjani begins a course of studies in musicology at Bremen, with a major in guitar. He graduated in 1986.
During a visit to India , he was initiated into sitar ragas and the virtuoso Amit Roy . In addition to his activities as a composer , arranger and producer , Sina Vodjani works as a photographer and painter , and his works have been exhibited in Paris, Hamburg and northern Germany. Following his discovery of Buddhism in 1994 , he traveled to Nepal and Tibet1 . In 1996 , Sina Vodjani incorporates a song in an album of the 16th Karmapa who was forced into exile in India in 19592 . He meets and saves the prayers of the 17th Karmapa Urgyen Trinley Dorje3 while still at the monastery of Tsourphou4 .
In collaboration with various international musicians , Sina Vodjani created a work that combines traditional oriental sounds and modern rhythms , songs and prayers of the monks. For other albums of the same vein, he managed to work with the meditation master Geshe Thubten Ngawang and Tibetan nun Ani Choying Drolma5 . He dedicates an album Holy Mother Mata Amritanandamayi . His current project , Zarathustra , includes a CD, a DVD and a photo album . It is based on a one month trip through Iran in 2005.
